Week 11 - Audio

Welcome to the last reaches of Polybusted!

There is sadly only going to be one last Devlog after this one. That's right, the time is drawing near for this game to be finished, and for us to let go of our prized baby and throw it out into the world.

So, let us go over the few last changes to be implemented into our game.

For this week, this is mainly Audio.

This little snippet as actually the sounds for the Grinder, but there are many, many more. Audio has been made for every component in the game, and there's now also a small music track (which will be changed) right now in the build, that plays upon booting the game up.

Additionally, we've also voice acted a few lines for a character that we've wanted to implement in our game for a very, very long time. This mascot has been with us for almost the entire length of the development process behind the screens, can I get a warm applause for The Announcer!

The Announcer adds flavor to your game in the form of hyping up the crowd, talking shit about you or your friends, and getting far too excited to be humanly possible. He will also occasionally appear on screen with expression to what's happening, with variations between:

These are still being finetuned (as you can see with certain expressions) but the big idea is there, and we hope he'll enrich your experience as he has done for us.

Lastly, some other minor changes.

-Players now have their own color!

-The Forcefield has been nerfed after repeated offenses to the Geneva Convention due to it's damage (lowered damage overall).

-You can also pick them up again, a small bug that was not intended.

-There is now Ambient sound in the Arena

-The robot makes sound as well

-The Announcer now has a 1/7 chance to start shouting over your combat

That's really it for this week. We hope you're having as much of a blast playing as we are creating this game, and we hope to see you again next week, when the last devlog goes in. Adios!
